Hello Community,
I have a question about the Hoymiles HMS-1600-4T and Zendure AIO2400 battery combination.
Unfortunately, when I purchased my photovoltaic system (balcony power plant), the seller did not inform me that the Hoymiles HMS-1600-4T inverter must be registered in the S-Miles Cloud in order to receive firmware updates. Until now, I assumed that regular firmware updates would be carried out automatically via the Zendure app, which was recommended and provided with this system.
The Zendure app has performed firmware updates on the AIO2400 battery several times in the past, but these have suddenly stopped (perhaps there are no new firmware versions available at the moment). I also suspect that an outdated firmware version may currently be installed on my Hoymiles HMS-1600-4T inverter and that the Hoymiles inverter may not be sufficiently protected against hacker attacks. Reliable, error-free operation and the security of the system (e.g., protection against possible hacking attempts) are very important to me.
So far, I have contacted both manufacturers (Hoymiles and Zendure) and am in the same position as before.
Hoymiles support writes that the manufacturer Zendure is a third-party provider and that I should contact the manufacturer Zendure regarding the technical function.
Support Zendure writes (quote):
"We have reviewed the situation you mentioned internally. Currently, there are compatibility differences between Hoymiles' performance strategy and our system in certain application scenarios. For example, operating at low power may result in unstable output power. If the firmware version you are currently using is running stably and shows no abnormalities, we recommend that you do not update for the time being and continue to use the system with the current version."
That's ridiculous!
Technical and security updates primarily serve to protect devices (smartphones, computers, IoT) from cyberattacks by closing security gaps. They also improve system stability, fix bugs, expand functionality, and increase performance. They ensure that hardware and software run smoothly and support current standards.
Does anyone here have experience with this system combination or updates?
Can anyone confirm that the inverter works reliably and remains fully compatible after installing the latest firmware?
I would appreciate your response.
Thank you very much.
