Hello,
I have a Zendure SolarFlow 2400AC with 3 batteries, installed since October 2024.
I use the SolarFlow 2400AC only in inverter/UPS mode, with the Power Off-Grid outlet used normally, and the unit connected to the energy provider’s mains input. I do not use it as an energy storage system (no HEMS, no smart scheduling, etc.).
Until last night (around 4:00 AM), everything had been working perfectly since October.
However, the system rebooted twice without any apparent reason, which caused the Power Off-Grid outlet to lose power and shut down some sensitive equipment connected to it:
04:40 AM: the battery system rebooted unexpectedly, cutting power on the Power Off-Grid outlet. I restarted my equipment afterwards.
07:00 AM: the same issue happened again: another unexpected reboot, again cutting power on the Power Off-Grid outlet for the duration of the restart.
Additional information:
There was no mains power outage or micro-outage from my energy provider at the time (I monitor my network and other sensitive devices connected directly to the grid, and they were not affected).
The consumption on the Off-Grid outlet is always around 500W, and never above 600W.
When I unplug the mains cable to simulate a power outage, the system behaves normally and does not cut out (I tested this between the two incidents).
Questions:
Do you have an idea what could cause these random reboots? Could the hardware be defective?
I noticed a firmware update is available: v1.0.15, while I am currently on v1.0.8. I do not see why firmware would suddenly become an issue after several months of stable operation.
Is it possible that Zendure attempts to automatically update firmware without user approval?
I initially wondered if the system could be trying to update, shutting down the Power Off-Grid outlet, then losing internet (my modem was connected to the Power Off-Grid outlet), causing the update to fail and leading to a reboot loop.
However, for more than one hour now, I have removed everything from the Power Off-Grid outlet and the SolarFlow has not attempted any firmware update, which makes me doubt that this is the real cause—although I would still like confirmation on whether automatic updates can happen.
For now, I have stopped using the SolarFlow and moved all sensitive equipment back to the energy provider’s mains supply to avoid unexpected outages.
Kind regards,
