SuperBase Pro 2000 Keeps Turning Off By Itself!

I have a Superbase Pro 2000, that is used mostly for UPS purposes, so it is plugged into AC, most of the time. Right now, the battery is sitting at 100% charge.

During the last 2 weeks, the unit has completely shut down, for no apparent reason, bringing down all my computers, monitors, internet, etc. After I push the power button, and then the AC button, it will come back online and run for several days before it happens again. This looks to me like a BMS software bug but there have been no firmware upgrades for this unit, for as long as I can tell.

It is extremely annoying to have to bring all these devices back online. I have another 2000, that is not run continuous with a load, and it has had a few issues in the past.

Has anyone had this issue before and what did you do to correct it? I was thinking of taking it off AC an letting the battery drain down and then recharge but that might be a waste of time.

Any ideas?

The battery does have a 10 year lifespan. Keeping those cells charged to 100% will kill their life. I put a smart plug on the feed for the Superbase (making sure it's never going to draw 1800 Watts) and I turn it off M-F from 4-9pm (when electricity is super expensive anyway). I actually leave mine off until morning as there isn't much draw overnight, but you do you. Maybe you could turn it off overnight to let it drain a bit when you are not using it.

Yes, good point about keeping the battery constantly at 100%. However, it does not explain why the unit keeps turning off by itself causing all my internet connected devices to go down.

When you turn your unit off between 4-9 PM, I assume everything is running off the battery at that point? How are you turning off the AC charging, just removing the AC plug from the Zendure, or can charging be turned off via the app without interrupting service to your devices? Also, is there a way for this to be done automatically, so that the unit will switch to battery and not charge and continue producing AC output to the devices and then automatically turn charging on again?

In other words, all devices need to have power at all times, either from AC Charging the Zendure, or running directly off the Zendure battery. The devices need to run 24/7.

Like I said in my post above, I used a Smart Plug. I got a bunch of Zendure ones shipped to me for buying the SBV, but I don't see them for sale anywhere. I actually have a bunch of Kasa Smart Plugs and I used one. I put it on a schedule as I said above and it automatically switches off at 4 and on at 9.

So, I got the Shelly plug and have it configured with Wi-Fi. I turned off the AC Charging and let it run off the battery and weird things happened:
The battery of course was at 100% and the draw was about 100 watts. After about 2 hours it was still showing 100%, then all of a sudden the entire unit turned off and I got an alert about "the current battery is already lower than the set low battery threshold and the set low battery threshold is 5."

I turned the AC Charging back on and the battery was showing 0% but quickly climbed back up to 100%. I waited a bit and then ran it on the battery. This time the battery was discharging at a normal rate, losing about 6% per hour. Then after about 2 hours, it turned off again. I started AC charging again and it started charging the battery at a more normal rate and took a while to come back to full. This looks like some sort of controller bug but I have not seen any firmware updates in a LONG time!
Also, one other thing. Recently the fan on this thing started running at a low level, constantly. Unit temperature is only 83.4 degrees F.

Have you run across these issues at all.? I have another SBP2000 Pro, that was also exhibiting these issues, in the past.

All my communications/internet etc. are connected to this unit and I cannot afford to have it crap out like this at any time.

Any thoughts?

Okay, thanks. I just got a Shelly plug and have connected it to my Wi-Fi. So, I will try that. The only thing I do not like, is that I have a device that needs very quick turn over from AC to battery, or else it will reboot. Usually, the Zendure does not switch fast enough into UPS mode for that device. It is kinda a PITA but better than dead battery, I guess.....

BruceH I wouldn't call it a bug, just what BMSs do when you don't exercise the batteries enough. Your batts should last 10 years of daily use, so why not just use them? At least every year if they are sitting in the garage discharge and recharge a couple of times before storing again. If they are Li-Ion be sure to only charge to 70% for storage. If you will need the batts in case of an outage better to do it every week or so. Again, 10 years, you'll buy something else before the unit goes bad unless you store it at 100% or 0%, that'll kill it very fast.

True but how can I get it to do a full discharge to at least 20%, if the thing keeps crapping out running on battery? I have a functional Shelly plug to turn off charging but the last time I did it after 2 hours the unit turned off because BMS said battery was at 0%. I know that was not the case with a 100 watt load on it. This thing usually will go for about 19 hours on the battery when the BMS does not go bezerk.

Just keep looping discharge recharge discharge recharge. Your battery may be dead already, but this will recalibrate a BMS that THINKS the battery is dead

So, basically just disconnect the AC charging, let the battery run as long as possible, recharge and repeat. Basically, rinse and repeat to reset the BMS and hopefully the battery will not be really dead?

Any idea why the fan continues to run all the time at a low level? never did that before, unless it is related to the BMS.
